VORC hosted a grand opening event for the Riverside Trails System yesterday, Sunday, October 2, 2016. Outdoor enthusiasts from Cedar Falls to North Liberty made their way to check out the brand new trail system. It also happened to be Take Your Kid Mountain Biking Day and there were kids of all ages enjoying the trails.

VORC members, Matt Boggess and Matt Phippen spoke to the crowd of 75, sharing their passion and vision for the future of the trail system which includes plans for a kids loop, pump track (practice area) and additional trails on the 70 acres of land available.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to experience the trails yesterday! We’d also like to recognize our VORC members for the countless hours of hard work and dedication to making this idea come to life. And finally, we want to recognize our amazing partners for sharing their experience, talent and resources:  International Mountain Biking Association, Linn Area Mountain Bike Association, Iowa Bicycling Coalition, Vinton Parks & Recreation, Cedar Valley Association for Soft Trails, and Iowa Coalition of Off Road Riders.

Additionally, we want to recognize businesses who have donated items, money and time to making the trails possible:  Scheels, Mayhew Design, and Meyers Turf.
